Landing Error Scoring System (LESS)
A study with young male and female football players showed that a LESS score of ≥ 5 indicates a higher ACL injury risk. Furthermore, patients after ACL reconstruction showed a higher LESS score compared to healthy subjects. An increase in LESS scores is also observed under fatigued conditions. Additionally, LESS can be used to identify errors and compensatory mechanisms in landing behavior. These risky movement patterns can be examined as predictors of future ACL injury with the help of LESS.
